Hi, I'm Ignacio, but everyone calls me Nacho.

I grew up in the countryside near Santiago, where I spent my childhood climbing trees, searching for wildlife, and finding every excuse to be outside. Every summer, my family escaped to a cabin in Northern Patagonia, where our days revolved around fishing, kayaking, gathering native berries, and exploring the wilderness. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong connection with Patagonia and the outdoors.

At ten years old, I joined my school's Scout group, an experience that shaped much of who I am today. Weeks spent camping in remote forests, cooking over open fires, and facing Patagonia's unpredictable weather taught me resilience, teamwork, and a deep respect for nature.

As I grew older, my passion for the outdoors was matched by a curiosity about people and cultures. I traveled, lived, and worked across South America, Europe, and Oceania, experiences that broadened my perspective, strengthened my English, and taught me how to connect with people from all over the world.

When I returned to Chile, I moved to Puerto Natales to begin guiding in Torres del Paine.

That's when everything came together.

For the first time, my passion for nature, my love of meeting people, and my experience exploring the world all aligned. Guiding became a way to share the Patagonia I had come to know and love.

Living and working here also taught me that the best journeys aren't created behind a desk—they're shaped by local knowledge. Knowing when to visit a trail, how to adapt to Patagonia's ever-changing weather, or which hidden places best match a traveler's interests comes from spending time on the ground.
